Twin spring loaded cedar shoe trees. These are the best value for shoe trees out there. I’ve been using these for about 10 years now and nothing beats them in terms of value, durability and design. Other imitations have failed on me while nicer, more expensive options don’t do the job any better. It’s got a full sized smooth heel which help prevents premature wear on the inner heel counter.

I’ve been using these shoe brushes for about 5 years after testing several others, these tend to have less hair loss than American made counterparts while also having very good density. Measuring at 8″ I’ve always found the larger sized brushes far easier and more enjoyable to use. A quick brush before and after wearing shoes is recommended.

Abbeyhorn has been making making handcrafted horn products in England for over 250 years. I’ve been using this 10″ version for a few years now, its been a joy and pleasure to use it every morning. Invest in a quality shoe horn so you can build the good habit of using it every time you put your shoes on. It lengthens the life of your shoes by preserving the heel counter which is not easily replaced.

After wearing several merino wool dress socks from different makers over the last few years, including the well-respected Bresciani and Sozzi, I’ve found that I generally prefer the quality of Marcoliani over some of the more popular brands.

These OTC (over the calf) merino wool dress socks I’ve discovered lasted longer than some of the other brands mentioned above, showing less wear over the same time span. The Marcoliani’s also tend to keep their shape better as well. I did also prefer the weight, slightly heavier and sturdier than Bresciani and Sozzi. The variety of colors and patterns are more limited compared to other offerings though. Compared to the popular Pantherella, these have a higher merino wool content  at 80% merino wool and 20% nylon, which seems to be a very good balance.

If you haven’t tried quality men’s dress socks, I’d suggest you give Marcoliani a try. Merino wool dress socks, particularly the OTC variety, are an often overlooked part of a man’s wardrobe which can make noticeable difference in comfort.
